It started in 1985 when Quantum Computer Services, Inc launched a service for Commodore 64 computers called Q-Link.  Forseeing the success online services would be in the future, Studio founder Bill Pytlovany left behind his traditional programming job in Schenectady, NY to join with other visionaries in Virginia creating the world largest online community known today as AOL.

During his time in Virgina, Quantum Computers, Inc Bill led the development of a number of custom online services for it's partners including AppleLink Personal Edition(Apple II and Macintosh), PC-Link(Tandy), Promenade(IBM PS1) and America Online(Geoworks version). These services were later combined into one service called America Online.

Returning to the home to upstate NY Bill first started Tartan Software specializing in 3rd party development tools. AOL continued it's relationship with Bill remotely hiring him to create a number of 3rd party tools and as liason to their AOL Developers Studio.

BillP Studios continues to maintain a friendly relationship with AOL and is often called upon as a consultant on new product development.

	  Express Icon AOL Express Development Kit

The basis for many AOL custom tools this kit provides a simple DLL based API for professional developers. The availability of this kit is restricted to AOL and it's approved partners.


Love Express Icon Love Express

This tool is used to automate the processing of form driven E-mail and file attachments. LoveX downloads and converts image files, parses E-mail text, creates and publishes new documents. AOL's Passport To Love and International Pen Pals use this tool to handle the volume of members looking for love on AOL.


Upload Express Icon Upload Express

Allows providers to quickly populate their file libraries by creating file templates batch uploading files to AOL. Software is localized and automatically detects international versions of AOL.



Chat Express Icon Chat Express

This tool was used to broadcast of AOL Live events from AOL to chat rooms and vice versa.  Using Chat Express AOL members could chat real time with non-AOL members on the web either using Virtual Places or Internet Relay Chat. The technology used by Chat Express is now used in other customized chat broadcast programs.
